BOWLING GREEN GARDENS CEMETERY

Bowling Green Gardens Cemetery is located in the Eastern part of Bowling Green, with a total capacity of approximately 32 acres. The cemetery sits adjacent to the J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. The first burial in the Gardens was done in October of 1994, however the official opening was in the spring of 1995.

To date, Mr. J.C. Kirby would be the most prominent person buried at the Gardens, he was the former owner & founder of the J.C. Kirby Funeral Chapel back in 1962, however there are others. A magistrate who served Warren county who died in office, the Warren county Building Inspector, a very prominent successful Bowling Green businessman, a Major with the Bowling Green Police Department, and many many more. Each is special in their own way, according to Kevin Kirby, the son in the J.C. Kirby & Son, and the founder of the Bowling Green Gardens Cemetery.

Currently there are approximately 8.5 acres, which are in use that are for burials, and the plan for additional burials is an ongoing process.

There are plans in the near future to add a cremation garden that will encompass approximately 384 inurnments, and 4 separate columbarium's, which will be encircled by stonework walkways, with an open book memorial for recording up to 300 cremation scatterings.

Bowling Green Gardens Cemetery was a long-lived dream Kevin Kirby had for the Bowling Green / Warren County area. This is just one of many items he has planned for his community in keeping with the changing times. "An attribute that one must have, is the ability to listen to the most important people we deal with, the families we serve."
